Dress: Target | Purse: Vintage Coach via Crossroads Trading | Shoes: Forever 21

When I was a kid, my mom and I would drive together a lot. Let’s rephrase that – she drove me. And I mean everywhere.

Sometimes it was to dinner, lunch, to go shopping, etc. Whatever it was, it was always interesting. Sometimes we’d sit in silence and listen to NPR or sometimes we’d talk about life. Her life. My life. You know how it is. And one of things I loved to hear most were stories about her life when she was my age.

I heard a lot, but what I remember distinctly was that she said she was a “flower child.” A bohemian. Obsessed with The Who and bell bottoms. It was the 60s after all. So, when I saw this dress after making a wrong turn at Target, I fell in love. Maybe our love for florals and retro prints is genetic. You know, “Like mother, like daughter.” Whatever it is, I think I’m living up to the 60s version of my mom pretty well.

Fuzz Ball

Sweater: Crossroads Trading | Jeans, Shoes (similar), Bag (love this version!): Zara

Hi Everyone!

So, I have to admit – there’s a lot going on here in this outfit today. We have a 90’s throwback, fuzzy sweater. Wide-leg cullottes that frankly make me feel like I’m wearing JNCO jeans. A bucket bag and gold heels. GOLD HEELS, YES. WEIRD? Kind of.

But…I dig it. And, I think it somehow works. Besides the sweater shedding that happened later.

After my trip from New York, I saw so many people taking fashion plunges that I wanted to throw two sheets to the wind and say F IT. Why not go for all the season’s trends in one damn outfit.

Also, so many exciting things happening y’all that I can’t wait to share!!

Talk soon!!!!

Dress: Forever 21 (old but love this version!) | Shoes: Seychelles via Athleta | Denim Jacket: Crossroads Trading

Hi Everyone!

Happy Tuesday! Being a self proclaimed shopaholic, I usually end up with a shitload of clothing my closet that never really sees the light of day (unfortunately). However, through many closet clean outs (thanks to Courtney & Andi), I’ve tried to maximize my favorite staples and minimize all the “junk.”

I found this dress a few years ago and even though it’s from Forever 21, a major fast fashion retailer, I absolutely love it. It’s flowy, has a pretty timeless pattern, and above all else – is insanely comfortable.

I paired this somewhat lower-end dress  with my trusty Seychelles boots that work with literally everything and it reminded me of why I love mixing and matching pieces to create one cohesive look. You don’t need to spend hundreds of bucks to look like it. You just gotta own it!

Pants: Zara (love these!) | Shirt: Gap (similar) | Shoes: Old Navy | Jacket: Crossroads Trading

I love a little pattern mixing, so this combination is my go-t0 when I’m running around in the morning trying to figure out what to wear!

It’s fresh, still a little funky, and super comfortable. I mean, did you take a look at the pants?  I also realize I keep wearing this denim jacket over and over again, but I honestly can’t help it. I guess I’ve now realized I’m the type of person who, when they find something they love, they never want to let go. I think this Crossroads jacket is fitting the bill at the moment (or forever, let’s be honest).

Blouse (similar) & Jeans (similar): Zara | Jacket: Crossroads Trading | Shoes: Old Navy

Hi Everyone!

Happy Tuesday! I’ve been seeing these jeans everywhere and when I found them on mega-sale at Zara (similar here)…I knew I needed to have them. Yes, they’re big. And sure, they may have a slight resemblance to JNCO Jeans, but damn. I love them. And I’m okay with that.

I have to admit – styling them is no easy feat. Since they’re big jeans, they need the right top to balance out the volume. A problem for me is that I only own massive things, so finding a blouse that complements the pants was a bit tricky. Luckily, I also picked up this cropped paisley blouse from Zara (during the sale!) and tucked it in to at least give the impression I have a figure underneath all the clothing. I added a furry jacket that I snagged at Crossroads to give the outfit a 70s vibe and I felt absolutely groovy all day.

Getting Dressed

Dress: Nordstrom Rack | Belt: Cary Lane | Shoes: Old Navy | Jacket: Crossroads Trading

Hi Everyone!

For about the last 4 years, I’ve been a dress/skirt girl. I couldn’t explain why, but wearing dresses and skirts just seemed…well, more easy.

For me, I liked a little breathing room and while I couldn’t kick my legs around in fear of showing my underoos (that didn’t stop me), I felt a bit more mobile. Besides, I loved the juxtaposition of pairing mini skirts with oversized sweaters and shirts and pencil skirts with crop tops that covered my bellybutton just enough. For me, it was all about proportions.

Over the last year, my love affair with pants begun. From culottes to raw hemmed to skinny, I saw so many trends and options out there that I couldn’t choose just one favorite. Maybe this is out of laziness and the fact that shaving my legs seems like the least fun activity in the world. This also could be because pants (really) go with everything. So, also laziness. And if we’re being honest, I just bought two near pairs of jeans from Asos and their sick sale (check it outttt).

But, on rare occasions – I throw on a dress, slide into my Old Navy mules and my girliness – even if it’s for the night. 🙂

Hi all!

Happy Thursday! Hope you’re having a great day! You know the saying, “Variety is the spice of life” right? Well, I 100% believe it. From my food to my commute to work, I love switching it up and trying new things out. This especially goes for my fashion.

Luckily for Le Tote, I don’t have to stress when it comes to spicing my wardrobe up. The company’s saying is, “Always have something new to wear” and if you’ve tried Le Tote before, you know it’s true.

I love the ability to curate pieces I love. From this badass sweatshirt that’s uber cozy to this functional and fashionable purse, Le Tote has an insane selection of clothing and accessories.
