Hi Everyone!

Happy Tuesday! San Francisco has some pretty stellar sunsets. To be honest, I think they’re the best i’ve ever seen. I feel so lucky to be in a city where I can look up around 6 p.m. and see the clouds morph into cotton candy and change a variety of colors.

More often than not, i’ve been rocking a lot of (what i’d call) San Francisco staples. Black jeans, denim jacket and hats upon hats.

What are some of your clothing staples?

Cheers!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday! You guys, it’s feeling like a rough one. Maybe it’s the post-Vegas setting in now, but I’m feelin’ a bit tired. Luckily, I had a kickass weekend so it was 100% worth it.

This week I went to check out Kat & Caity doin’ their thang for San Francisco Fashion Week and stopped by the 9LuxByLeah booth and had my first foray with flash tattoos (mashup millennial!) and was so pumped when my amazing poster by Printsagram came! Can’t wait to hang it up in my room!

Friday I ventured to Oakland to see my very favorite band — Trails & Ways! If you haven’t checked them out yet, I highly suggest you do. They’re coming out with a new (their first!) album with a ton of amazing songs!

Saturday was spent exploring the Mission and stopping by Everlane to see their new Fall collection — seriously…they are coming out with SHOES! Can’t wait to scrunch my feet in those bad boyz. Also, their office is beautiful. So naturally, I took a ton of photos.

Sunday was for celebrating Ali’s birthday and being in the sunshine at Dolores Park. When it’s summer in San Francisco, we flock towards any greenery.

Hope you had an amazing weekend too!

Cheers!

Warby Parker: Fall 2014 Collection

1071 TAL WARBY 02-186-03-03LR

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday! As many of you know, I live on the West Coast via Ohio (hence the name!) With that being said, sometimes this time of the year makes me a bit bummed. I have tons of memories back in Ohio of September, October and November and fall in general. The crisp air hitting my hands as my friends and I took joy rides in college, stepping on crunchy leaves and eating comfort foods like pumpkin soup or sipping on pumpkin spice lattes.

In San Francisco, well…we’re in our Indian Summer so i’ll have to wait a bit to feel fall, but with the new introduction of the Warby Parker Fall Collection I can have a little taste now.

With nine new frame shapes and two new colors, this season’s collection is filled with exciting new options for bold, creative personalities. As an avid wearer and lover of glasses, i’m especially digging the Chandler Ti in English Oak and the Coley in Crystal (seen above!!)

Have you received a 5 pair try-on yet?? If not, I encourage you to try on with the Warby Parker Home Try-On program and all frames purchased precipitate another pair to be donated to someone in need! How cool is that?! Looking stylish and helping out humanity. 🙂

The Warby Parker Fall Collection is now available in retail stores and online, and starts at just $95 a pair. Seriously, what are you waiting for? Check them out now!!

Cheers!

Woman Game Changer: Home Style Edition

Screen Shot 2014-09-23 at 9.12.26 PM

A few weeks ago, LUNA bar invited me to celebrate their LUNAFEST campaign and share my experiences and stories about the women game changers I have met in in my life.

Being an only child raised by strong parents (especially my mother), I jumped at the opportunity to share stories about influential, courageous and inspiring people who have made an impact in the community and my life.

Fast forward to last Thursday at the San Francisco premiere of LUNAFEST. This film festival has been around for 14 years and is one that celebrates films by, for and about women who are game-changers.

Since its inception, LUNAFEST has grown from a single annual event to a coast-to-coast force with more than 170 North American screenings each season. To date, 118 filmmakers have been featured, nearly $2.5 million dollars has been raised and thousands of attendees have come away moved, entertained and inspired.

Who wouldn’t love that?

More importantly, LUNAFEST’s main beneficiary is the Breast Cancer Fund and 100 percent of all net proceeds are donated to charity. This leads me to my story about the biggest, most badass game-changer I know — my mom.

Like I mentioned earlier, i’m an only child and like most only children, I am very close to my parents. I remember countless trips where my Dad was off at conventions leaving my Mom and I as the dynamic duo, exploring the best sights cities have to offer. Some of my best memories include sipping on clam chowder at Legal Seafood, lying by the pool at the Luxor in Las Vegas and generally having a blast being together.

As I grew up, my mother became my confidant, my biggest supporter and best advice giver. She worked full-time, but always managed to find time to be the first mom on the sidelines cheering her ass off, wearing a big pin with my face on it for my field hockey games. It’s crazy how even the smallest things can make the biggest impact, right?

During November of 2012, my mother called me during work saying that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. My world slowly crumbled as I knew I was thousands of miles away and couldn’t give or show her the same support she showed me throughout those 23 years. But, instead of feeling sorry for herself or sad, she was determined. Determined to be positive, determined to be strong and determined to fight through this awful disease.

Fast forward to 2014 and not only has she continued to be a fighter, but she beat breast cancer and is better than ever. I’m so thankful to have her in my life and can’t imagine not being able to call her at a moment’s notice to ask for career advice, bring me back to earth or even a simple “I love you.”

The photo above is us celebrating my friend’s wedding in the heart of her chemotherapy, still rockin’ a smile.

If you love powerful stories, amazing women and fantastic causes, I urge you to see if there’s a LUNAFEST screening in your city! Be sure to check out the trailer as well as full films celebrating other female game-changers.

Cheers!

Jacket: Zara (love this version!) | Shirt: Anthropologie | Pants & Shoes: Target (obsessed with these pants)

Hi Everyone!

So, awhile back I hung out with my best gal pal Shikha and the most amazing Tory for a little photo and brunch excursion. Now, if y’all live in San Francisco, you’ve heard of Plow. If not, I highly suggest you stop what you’re doing, put on some pants (well, for me definitely) and head straight to Potrero Hill for the best damn breakfast/lunch you will ever have.

Now, you may say, “Aimee…please. You San Franciscans take brunch way too seriously. Waiting an hour is ridiculous.” And well, i’ll tell you you’re right. BUT, have you ever had lemon ricotta pancakes so freakin’ fluffy it feels like you just took a bite out of a cloud!? If you don’t believe me, see for yourself here.

After Plow, Tory, Shikha and I explored Potrero Hill and the killer scenery. I love exploring, especially by foot. It was a pretty perfect afternoon. There will be more photos to come in the next few weeks, but I loved the views so much I had to go back to catch that token San Francisco golden hour.

Annnnd, if you couldn’t tell by the last picture, we definitely had a blast.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday. This week has been a bit of a doozy, but i’ll start with my week and then head into the weekend! Last weekend at the Hayes Valley Urban Air Market, I found this amazing illustrator/artist named Jeremy Parrigan who creates all of these phenomenal prints, designs and t-shirts! So, of course I snagged one of Anna Wintour. In the market for Jenna Lyons next. Highly recommend checking out his work! And well, that started the week off on a high note.

Moving to Thursday where I had the opportunity to check out LUNAFEST and be so inspired by seeing films for women, by women. Amazing evening that I can’t wait to get more in detail later this week!

Then…moving to the weekend. Vegas. YOU GUYS. It is weird. SO WEIRD. Why are there no windows?? Anyway, it was a phenomenal weekend with my best gal pals and well, had a lot of fun. Can you tell?

Detoxing now, but can’t wait to share more this week!

Cheers!
